Yurtshire Swinithwaite Important Information

Please ensure you read the following information prior to your visit and make sure all guests in your party are aware of any necessary procedures which may concern them.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE

CHECK IN
Check in is from 3pm-5pm. All guests should report to Berry’s Farm Shop to collect their key. The Farm Shop is open until 5.00pm.

LATE CHECK IN
If you are arriving after 5pm please ring Bridget on 07730896756 or Tim on 07769341955 prior to your arrival and they will ensure that the gate at the top of  the “Back Lane” is left open for you (see map). Your key will be left inside the key box by the recycling bin which is located through the Yurtshire gate entrance. Bridget or Tim will give you the key code over the phone. Please ensure you view the map to see the location of your yurt and the entrance to “Back Lane”.

CHECK OUT
Check out is 10.30am. Late departures may be charged for.

Please hand your key in at the Farm Shop. The Farm Shop is open from 9.30am daily. If you are planning to depart before 9.30am then please leave the key in the door of your yurt.

DIRECTIONS (GETTING HERE)

We are located on the A684 between West Witton and Aysgarth. Follow the signs for Berry’s Farm Shop. On arrival, go to the Farm Shop to check in.

BEDDING

Linen is provided. As standard, the following beds/futons will be made up as follows depending on the size of your group.

2 guests = double bed
3 guests = double bed and single futon
4 guests = double bed and double futon
5 guests = double bed, double and single futon

If some of your guests are not happy sharing the double futon/double bed,  extra bed linen can be provided for the single futon for a £10 surcharge.

If you would like to order extra linen, it is essential that you email info@yurtshire.co.uk 48 hours prior to arrival so we can make the necessary arrangements and take payment.

TOWELS

One towel per person is provided. We recommend bringing an extra towel with you if you would like to use the hot tub.

LOSS & DAMAGES

Please try to keep the yurt and facilities as clean and tidy at all times. We would be extremely grateful if you could wash all pots before departure and dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided.

Please be respectful to all equipment. Guests are liable for any costs incurred due to loss or damage of equipment. Guests will be charged for the cost of repair or replacement post stay.

Following guest departure all equipment (including the yurt) will be checked and examined and any damages incurred will be charged to the person responsible for booking the stay. Failure to make payment will result in further action taken.

LOGS

A basket of logs and some fire lighters are provided for your arrival. Extra logs can be purchased on site.
A chopping block and axe is provided so that you can chop logs smaller if needed.

POWER AND WIFI

The yurts are completely off grid which means there is no electricity or power. If you are bringing any electrical gadgets with you please ensure they can be battery operated. You can get free wifi in Berry’s café while you dine.

A cool box is provided inside your yurt for fresh goods. Ice or cool packs are not provided and you will need to supply these if you wish to use the cool box.

LIGHTING

In the yurts there is ambient lighting in the form of tea light lanterns for the evenings. Please note the grounds have no external lighting which is great for seeing the stars at night, but not so great for finding your way around in the dark!
We strongly recommend bringing head torches, torches or battery powered lanterns.

SHOWER/WC/DRINKING WATER

Each yurt has its own gas heated shower unit and private full flushing toilet. Drinking water is located from a separate tap which is situated on the side of the shower/toilet unit.

ONSITE BEHAVIOUR

Guests may be asked to leave the premises if their behaviour is threatening, aggressive, anti-social or damaging in any way to the other residents or to the premises. Noise travels fast in our peaceful Yorkshire countryside, and we ask guests to respect our noise curfew of 10pm.

HAZARDS

Situated on the edge of a woodland there are a multitude of potential hazards such as tree roots, uneven ground and slippery surfaces to name but a few. Please be aware that guests are responsible for their own welfare, along with the welfare of their children and any others in their group.
